I Made This! Matching Skirts

This was another of the girls' Christmas presents: matching skirts. I always dreamed of being one of those moms who sees matching pajamas for their kids Christmas Eve, but my skill level just isn't there. I decided to go with skirts. I found this wonderful lightweight corduroy on sale and followed a tutorial on (simple skirt). I loved that it had no pattern! I also found it interesting girls 4 years apart have the same exact waist size. The only suggestion I would make, is to do a zigzag stitch instead of ironing down the edges (substitute for surging since I don't have one). I ironed down, and it didn't work so well, but a more experienced seamstress friend of mine said I should've zigzagged.
These two skirts probably took about 1.5 hours and cost about $6 total.
